The 18th Awarding Ceremony for Peer Mentoring Program
On May 29th, College President Jeong Sangjik
held a completion ceremony for the peer mentoring program. This has been the 18th
of the awarding program and those with success stories were presented in the
event. After completing training sessions from April 3rd to April 24th, Oh
Seoksun, the director of student coaching center, further promoted the program and
screened for successful cases, providing the vision for the peer mentoring
program that held from May 8th to May 25th.
President Jeong talked about success by quoting
the words of Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, that success comes with many
failures and the peer mentor is one who supports the mentee the most in
difficult times and challenges. President Jeong also added that mentors who
understand and sympathize with their peers with a problem solution technique
are what attract this relationship and further develop into valuable assets in
the mentoring program.
All the mentors in the 18th awarding ceremony
in 2019 were volunteers. After completing training sessions and the awarding
event, these volunteers will help their peers adapting for campus life better
and will become a great asset to further contribute to Woosong Information
College.
