How to Register for the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean)

The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is a standardized test designed to measure the Korean language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is widely used for university admissions, visa extensions, employment, and scholarships in Korea.

Types of TOPIK

  • TOPIK I: Basic level (Levels 1–2) – Reading & Listening only
  • TOPIK II: Intermediate to Advanced levels (Levels 3–6) – Reading, Listening & Writing

Test Schedule

TOPIK is usually held 6 times a year. Please refer to the official TOPIK website for the exact schedule and registration dates each year.

How to Apply

  • Create an account on the TOPIK website (www.topik.go.kr)
  • Log in and select the desired test date and location
  • Upload your photo (white background, taken within 6 months)
  • Pay the application fee online using a bank card or virtual account

Test Type Fee

  • TOPIK I 40,000 KRW
  • TOPIK II 55,000 KRW

※ Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and may close early when seats are full.

Confirmation & Test Admission

  • After applying, you can download the test admission ticket from the website
  • Bring your passport or alien registration card and the printed ticket on test day
  • Arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes early
